Share

Congratulations are in order for CGL technician Glen Tyler who was recently named Contract Employee of the Year at Sussex II State Prison!  Glen has gone above and beyond in his efforts at Sussex to set a good example and provide quality service to our client.

In October 2018, CGL’s maintenance contract began for Sussex I and II State Prisons in Waverly, Virginia, which is when Glen started working for the company. His job revolves around plumbing corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance. Many of Glen’s responsibilities include: ensuring the water circulation is functioning properly and plumbing repairs for toilets, sinks, drains, showers, etc. Glen’s work extends beyond plumbing to electrical, steam repairs, and general trades to provide assistance as needed to meet daily demands.

Jason Garrett, Facility Manager of Sussex I and II State Prisons, said, “The qualities that make Glen stand out are his work ethic, dedication and communication.  He has a passion for his work to make the lives of others better.”

Glen has been recognized for his dedication before he received Contract Employee of the Year. In 2019, he won Employee of the Month and even received a “Golden Bucket” award from offenders who wanted to show their gratitude.

Glen demonstrates his care through his daily work. He said he has “a heart and desire to make sure living conditions are as comfortable as possible to meet the needs of the offenders to the best of his ability.”

CGL is honored to have Glen on the Sussex maintenance team and is thrilled he received this well-deserved honor. Keep up the good work, Glen!
