New Tuolumne County Jail, Bringing Vast Improvements By Design | myMotherLode.com
The new Tuolumne County jail is set to open in the beginning of 2020. This facility aims to solve overcrowding problems from the original jail, which opened in 1959.
The new facility will feature several new features and amenities that the old jail lacked, including: wifi to allow remote visiting through technology and reward incentives for good behavior, more windows to let in natural light, and rooms for those working on finishing a degree, certification or for spiritual purposes.
